About Us
For over 20 years, the Norfolk Tourism Foundation (NTF) has been a cornerstone in supporting Norfolk’s tourism and hospitality industry. Originally established to advance research and data collection in the field, our mission evolved to focus on providing scholarships and internships, helping students discover opportunities in Norfolk’s vibrant hospitality sector.
In response to the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, we shifted our focus entirely to workforce development. This pivot allowed us to address the urgent need to rebuild and strengthen our industry’s talent pipeline. Through scholarships, internships, and mentorship programs, we’ve empowered local students and professionals to pursue meaningful careers while meeting the evolving needs of our community.
After a thorough evaluation of our financial and operational landscape, the NTF Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to pause all operations effective January 1, 2025. This decision reflects current funding constraints and the need to reassess how we can best serve Norfolk’s tourism and hospitality community in the future.

Private Foundations Grants: We’re supported by donations from local, privately held foundations. We also apply for grants to further our mission in the community.
