The Push Book Club: Classics Retold

May 24 2025

10:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
The Push Comedy Theater 763 Granby Street Norfolk, VA 23510 Price: $5.00

Before film and television (but after oral tradition), there were books! Books still exist to this very day as a popular means of storytelling. Here at The Push Comedy Theater, we’ve decided to celebrate the staying power of books by starting our very own book club!

Bring your favorite book and tell us about it. Our talented team of improvisers (voracious readers, all) will perform the entire story before your very eyes in about 20 minutes.

From classic literature to pulp fiction, we’re ready to introduce your favorite book to the world! Push Book Club is a fully improvised show. You bring the book… we’ll share it with the audience the best way we can… completely improvised.

The Psychic: The All-Improvised Journey into the Unknown

May 24 2025

10:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
The Push Comedy Theater 763 Granby Street Norfolk, VA 23510 Price: $10.00

Are you fearful of what is yet to come?

Do you have questions from your past that need answers?
Have you ever had a spirit cut you in line at the Harris Teeter?

These questions and many more will be answered by the great Marcius Lucius and his band of Lucius Lucians, in this all improvised comedy show. Marcius Lucius will take the audience on a spiritual journey from the past to the future through psychic readings, Raike, palm reading, rock healing, chakra adjustment, handfasting, crystal ball readings, tarot card shuffling, tantric loving making and direct communication with those who have passed on to the other dimension
Things Marcius Lucius of the Lucius Lucians has successfully predicted include
-The Great Tidewater earthquake of August 27th 2011
– Global Warming
– Flooding at the Hague in Norfolk
– The influx of out-of-towners to Virginia beach during the summer months
– Hurricanes
– Portsmouth tolls
– Peanuts in Suffolk
– That people who attend TCC can from there go anywhere
– The mid-aught fires of the Great Dismal Swamp
-Construction on 64
-Gerbils
Marcius Lucius has not attended the Edgar Kasey School, The School of Fuller Massage nor any other reputable institute of higher learning. He received his powers directly from Lord Jofur the Norse god of Thunder one morning while eating a bagel on the Elizabeth River Ferry.
See you at the show (He has already predicted that you are coming)!

Fireside Collective at The Annex

August 14 2025

10:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
The Annex 2500 Church Street, Unit A Norfolk, VA 23517 Price: Tickets $17 advance // $22 day of show
Check out Fireside Collective!

Inspired by the burgeoning art scene, close knit community, and natural beauty of Asheville, North Carolina, newgrass turned eclectic jam band Fireside Collective has been spent a decade working towards this very pinnacle.  Original band members Joe Cicero, guitar, Jesse Iaquinto, mandolin, Tommy Maher, resonator guitar, and Carson White, bass, began playing together in 2014 when Iaquinto gathered the group of bluegrass enthusiasts to back up some of his original songwriting.

When they began touring again after covid, Fireside drew inspiration from jambands like The Grateful Dead,  the group’s agreed upon North Star.  There was significantly more improvisation, changing setlists from night to night, and longer musical movements.  With the introduction of Michael Tillis on drums in late 2023, the sound expanded to include heavy funk elements as well as classic rock and even ventured into techno and world music. By the end of 2024, Fireside Collective had become a true hybrid, with a strong foundation in bluegrass and folk, and healthy doses of rock n’ roll and funk, all blended together in a unique and colorful amalgam of original music.
