Historic Houses: A Downtown Norfolk Walking Tour

August 26 2022

6:30-7:30 PM
Willoughby-Baylor House 601 East Freemason St., Norfolk, VA

Join Norfolk Tour Company on this FREE walking tour of historic houses in Downtown Norfolk! Tour guide Joshua Weinstein will focus on a corridor of historic homes that still line Freemason Street in downtown.

Starting with the Willoughby Baylor house, the tour will move west, stopping by the Moses Myers House, the Hunter House Victorian Museum, and the Taylor-Whittle House. Freemason Street is older than this country, and the families that built these houses also helped build the city. With this tour, we will take a step back in time to discuss these families, their lives in the early 1800s, and how these stately mansions have survived until today.

The tour will begin at Willoughby-Baylor House and walk through downtown for around one hour. The nearest parking is MacArthur Center’s north parking garage.

We are looking forward to sharing this unique, fun, and new experience with you all!
