To experience opera in Norfolk is to savor it in surroundings of grand elegance at the stunning Edythe C. and Stanley L. Harrison Opera House. Once a World War II USO theater, this historic venue was lavishly renovated in 1993, and each season plays host to the Virginia Opera, one of the finest regional opera companies in the nation. With 1,632 seats and ample modern amenities, the Harrison Opera House retains an intimate ambience, but one adorned by the beauty of glittering chandeliers, sweeping staircases and bistro tables where you can sip champagne and drink in the glamour before performances and during intermissions. On-site parking in brightly lit lots is available on both sides of the theater for $4.00 per car. Limited on-street parking is also available.
